Manufacturing Guilt (Fabricando Culpabilidad), dirigido por Stephen Vittoria fue producido por Street Legal Cinema con Prison Radio en 2013. El documental de 30 minutos demuestra la manera en que la Policía y Fiscalía de Filadelfia no sólo fabricaron la culpabilidad de Mumia Abu-Jamal por el asesinato del policía blanco Daniel Faulkner el 9 de diciembre de 1981, sino que ocultaron su inocencia. Mumia ha dicho: “Mi único crimen aquella noche fue sobrevivir”.
En su última audiencia el 16 de diciembre, la jueza Lucrecia Clemons, quien había dictado en su contra en octubre, dio al equipo jurídico de Mumia entre 60 y 90 días para abrir y revisar otras cien cajas, particularmente para buscar evidencia sobre los reclamos de prejuicio racial en la selección del jurado (el caso Batson) y el asunto de ocultar evidencia de su inocencia de su defensa (el caso Brady). ¿Habrá un anuncio sobre esto el día 16 de febrero?
El Juez Wendell Griffin, quien ha aparecido en varios programas en apoyo a Mumia recientemente, deja en claro que al escuchar evidencia de la violación Brady, la jueza Clemons está obligada a liberarlo de inmediato.

Uno de los asuntos que Mumia ha vivido personalmente y destacado en sus escritos es el terror policiaco, y ahora hay una nueva ola de movilizaciones internacionales para exigir justicia por los asesinatos políticos de Tyre Nichols en Memphis y Manuel Teron (Tortuguito) en Atlanta.
En un momento cuando sigue siendo muy importante el envío de nuestras condolencias a nuestro hermano Mumia por la muerte de su adorada esposa Wadiya Jamal, también hace falta mantenernos al tanto de los hechos de su caso y pensar colectivamente en nuestras futuras acciones por su libertad. Habrá movilizaciones internacionales el día de su cumpleaños el 24 de abril. ¿Qué hacemos aquí en México?

Manufacturing Guilt, directed by Stephen Vittoria, was produced by Street Legal Cinema with Prison Radio in 2013. The 30-minute documentary demonstrates how the Philadelphia Police and District Attorney’s Office not only fabricated Mumia Abu-Jamal’s guilt for the murder of white police officer Daniel Faulkner on December 9, 1981, but concealed his innocence.
Mumia has said, «My only crime that night was surviving.»
At his last hearing on December 16, Judge Lucrecia Clemons, who had ruled against him in October, gave Mumia’s legal team 60 to 90 days to open and review another 100 boxes, particularly to look for evidence about Mumia’s claims of racial bias in jury selection (the Batson case) and the issue of withholding evidence of his innocence from his defense (the Brady case). Will there be an announcement about this on February 16?
